Socotra Time Zone: GMT + 3 hours 

Telephone:  the country (Yemen) code is 00967, followed by regional code and by a six digit private number.

Telephone lines are available only in Hadibo. Socotra has a local mobile phone network (CDMA), but this system is not compatible with western GSM mobile phone systems (which will work on the mainland). During the trip all our guides travel with local mobile phones: for urgent matters, they can help you to contact your family abroad when travelling with Socotra Advisor.

From 2020, also Emirates SIM cards have been allowed to work on the island zone: Abu Dhabi replaced Socotra internet and telcom networks with Emirate devices and lines. Since many local people work overseas in the UAE, it is not unusal to find local mobile working with 00971 code.

Internet: Internet access is expensive (compared to western prices). There is currently one internet café on the island, which is located in Hadibo
